At Revolutionary Assistance Dogs (RAD) Inc., our mission is twofold:
to support individuals who choose to train their own Assistance Dogs and
to increase public awareness about the remarkable capabilities of these canine companions. We believe in the power of partnership between humans and dogs to transform lives.

RAD Inc. is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers, all of whom are Assistance Dog handlers from diverse backgrounds. We intimately understand the challenges and triumphs of life with an Assistance Dog, and we're here to share that understanding with you.

What We Offer

Whether you're a seasoned team or new to the community, we're committed to helping you feel confident, knowledgeable, and secure in your training journey.
Support at Every Stage: From finding the right puppy to connecting with reputable trainers and identifying tasks that best suit your needs, we're here to guide our teams.
Our Colour Level training program: Teams can access Colour Level booklets, which provide a structured framework for training that breaks down the process. With this resource, teams can also log their training progress through our digital training logs. Our team can assist in finding and recommending suitable training tasks that cater to their specific needs, ensuring they get the most out of their partnership. We prioritize building a trusting relationship with our teams to help them thrive, from basic obedience to task training and public access. We also offer a wealth of resources and tutorials to support their training journey.
Mentorship Program: Experienced teams are paired with newer teams, providing valuable insights and a supportive ear. It's an opportunity to connect with someone who understands the journey.
Assistance for Flying: We offer comprehensive assistance and resources to teams who are traveling with their Assistance Dogs. Our team provides helpful guides and digital training logs to make sure you are well-prepared for your flight. We have a great relationship with the airlines and can help you navigate the process of boarding your flight after you have completed the necessary training. Our step-by-step program makes it easy for you to get started and we will be with you every step of the way, making the whole process much smoother.
Advocacy and Support: Teams working in public spaces may face discrimination, which is why we offer advocacy and support services. Our specialized phone number provides direct support to teams facing discrimination issues. We handle access issues and speak to businesses about our teams' rights and what reasonable accommodations should be made. Our commitment is to help teams access public spaces without any worry. We have successfully guided teams through court cases and mediation, ensuring that their rights are upheld.
Come join the team: We have many opportunities for RAD teams to get involved. If you are passionate about assistance dogs, our team has various roles available, including social media, mentorship programs, and subcommittee positions. We are looking for like-minded individuals who share our values and want to make a positive impact in the community. We offer opportunities for subcommittee members to join our committee and help shape the future of RAD.
Our commitment goes beyond training. We actively engage in various initiatives, including educating businesses, creating informative materials, conducting awareness campaigns, and participating in events to raise awareness about the vital work of Assistance Dogs.
