We are a not-for-profit association and our mission is to support and educate owners training Assistance Dogs. We hope to decrease access issues, host a support network, and provide guidance along the journey of training an Assistance Dog under the definition of the Disability Discrimination Act (1992). We also provide advocacy in the event of discrimination against our teams.
Our incorporated Association encompasses all owner trained Assistance Dogs, including ADiT, PAT certified dogs, and everyone in between. We aim to keep handlers' options open regarding equipment choices, ethical training methods, tasks they teach, etc. With so many varying disabilities out there it seems only right to have just as much diversity in handler's choices too, and to keep things truly owner training style.
We have general trainers, Assistance Dog specialised trainers, and PAT Assessors available to our
members across the country.
